The Canadian born singer has been making waves in both the music and fashion industries. At just 17 years old, she began to tour with Noah Fincce, following two successful album releases, musical & brand collaborations with artists such as Baby Tate and Japanese brand, Gloomy Bear, she has made her mark as an emerging artist powerhouse.
Combining her unique alternative sound, pop punk style, and popular online personality, Sophie is not just a pop star but a multi talented artist with a vision to shape the future of both industries using her curated looks.

A Star on the Rise
Sophie Powers burst into the music scene with her infectious blend of kinetic dance beats, yearning vocals and blown-out emo guitar riffs capturing the attention of fans worldwide.
Known for her distinctive style, she has released several singles and EPs that have become viral sensations. Her songs tackle themes of young adult angst, rebellious themes, and dark tones, with a sound that effortlessly combines hyperpop with elements of alternative and electronic influences.
K: Your image consists of a very unique and particular style. What were some of the inspirations behind your sound and aesthetic?
S: My current image is mainly in support of my younger self. My future image is to support myself now.
I dress the way I do now because my younger self wishes she could’ve. I stopped expressing myself socially at a very young age due to bullying, and as a creative person that was extremely hard. Bright colors, cartoons/animes that I grew up watching, and nostalgia are all things I’ve leaned into both visually and sonically up till now.
Moving forward, I’m looking at the world from a more jaded perspective. I’m no longer a teenager, I’m 20, and the world has left a bitter taste in my mouth. My supporters should expect more mature subject matter and darker tones/colors visually. I’m in no rush to grow up, but it’s time to do some growing.
K: What was it like collaborating with Gloomy Bear? How did you go about creating the line from inspiration to final release?
S: Gloomy Bear is a brand I grew up with, and ACDC Rag is a brand that I’ve always supported, so collaborating with them both at once was truly a dream come true. It was a very collaborative process from start to finish, bouncing our design ideas off of one another for over 7 months before even finalizing which pieces would make it in stores and when the collection would launch. I’m so thankful for the opportunity!

K: What can we expect from the future of Sophie Powers in terms of music and fashion?
S: In terms of music, you can expect LOTS of it this year. I’ll be more music focused this year than fashion I’d say, however I’m open to more opportunities in the fashion space and would love to turn heads at an actual show front row wearing one of my designs! I have no plans to launch my clothing brand this year due to expenses, manufacturing and time, but it is in the works.
K: How has your style and sound changed from your first album Red in Revenge to Glitch: Lvl 1?
S: Red in Revenge was definitely more rock than Glitch: Lvl 1 was. I’m trying to find a healthy balance between hyperpop and rock, but it’s hard when everyone wants to box you in, and the genres are so different. I am leaning towards a more hyperpop sound overall that uses darker rock tones than seen in Glitch: Lvl 1 this year. My style has gone from emo, to bright, and now I’m going grunge? It’s very all over the place , but keeps things interesting at least!

K: What is a dream collaboration or concept you have for Sophie Powers (music/fashion)?
S: I’d love to do a 3 way song track with 2 other women. Time and time again I see strong trio pop songs from women, and all I have to say to them is “how does it feel to live MY DREAM”. Seriously though, if any ladies see this who make music - dm me! I also have dreamt about designing for MSCHF, Racer Worldwide, Ottolinger, heavn by Marc Jacobs, and Miu Miu, or really any other collaborator with a unique vision that I can help bring to life. But time will tell!
K: Anything you'd like your fans to know/say to them?
S: I just want to say thank you. Not only for the continued support but also for your patience. Being an artist is hard, but you all deal with so much and still take time out of your day to listen to my music or buy my designs?! What??!! That means more to me than you’ll ever know, considering I never thought anyone would do that for me. This I’m going to push myself harder creatively than I ever have. I owe you that.
